Lavandula angustifolia 'Royal Velvet'
Royal Velvet lavender (botanically known as Lavandula angustifolia 'Royal Velvet') is a striking English lavender variety prized for its deep, velvety purple flower spikes and intense fragrance. It blooms in early to midsummer and is especially popular for fresh bouquets and dried arrangements because it retains its rich color after drying. Growing about 2–3 feet tall, it forms neat, bushy mounds of silvery-green foliage that add texture to borders and herb gardens. Like most English lavenders, it thrives in full sun and well-drained soil, and it's loved by bees and other pollinators.
